The Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine currently has 7 committees and 6 working groups, as follows:

- Faculty Officers Committee ("Executive") - this committee looks after corporate governance matters and finances - the 4 Faculty Officers sit on this committee (Dean, Vice-Dean, Honorary Secretary and Treasurer) and the Training Programme Director may attend some meetings from time to time,

- Education Committee - this committee looks after all educational events run by the Faculty (Spring Symposium, SEMSEP Modules, webinars, the Annual Scientific Conference (ASC), Journal Clubs and Grand Rounds, Solstice meetings etc.),

- PCS Committee - this committee looks after all PCS matters and the accreditation of external CPD events,

- Training Committee - this committee looks after the delivery of the HST SEM programme,

- Fellowship & Membership Committee - this committee looks after the assessment of Associate Membership, Membership and Fellowship applications, as well as the review of Fellowship Ad Eundem and By Election nominations, and is also responsible for a number of ad'hoc projects,

- Corporate Committee - this committee is responsible for corporate matters, and works in collaboration with the FOs on a number of key projects for the Faculty such as review of standing orders, corporate governance etc.,

Exercise Medicine/MSK Medicine Committee - this committee is fairly new and is responsible for promoting the Exercise Medicine side of the specialty, generally through CPD activities and public engagement,

Anti-Doping Working Group - this working group deals with anti-doping matters, and up-dates the board with any news on this topic,

- ASC Working Group - this working group is responsible for the organising of our Annual Scientific Conference and reports back to the Education Committee,

- CARES Working Group - this working group is responsible for the development and running of our new sports trauma course called CARES course which will launch in due course; this working group reports back to the Education Committee,

- ICGP/FSEM MSK Diploma Working Group - this working group is responsible for delivering the joint MSK diploma, and reports back to the Education Committee,

- Accreditation/QI Working Group - this working group is responsible for accreditation matters (training programme accreditation), assessment of applications such as the Medical Council of Ireland's specialist registration applications in Sports and Exercise Medicine under Route E and overseas curriculum reviews under Route F, development of the training programme in Sports and Exercise Medicine, funding matters, and the creation of consultant posts in Sports and Exercise Medicine, and reports back to the Training Committee,

- and finally, the Trainee Working Group - this working group is responsible for making recommendations to the training committee in relation to the training programme, and works in close collaboration with the Accreditation/QI Working group on a number of common themes. A number of past SEM trainees sit on both the trainee working group and the raining committee, and are responsible for a number of ad-hoc projects such as the creation of guidelines, policies etc.
